Central Park Film

Bounced over to Central Park with Lisa. She had mentioned the film festival the Nature Park Conservancy and Bloomberg were hosting this week but I hadn't gotten over there yet. We decided the Lincoln Center movie theater was too crowded and headed to the park. Lucky for us since the rain had ceased and we could easily find a seat. Free popcorn allowed me the opportunity to realize that sugar-coated Oreo popcorn only tastes good for about 6 bites. Lisa was smarter and went for the cheddar pretzel popcorn.

They were showing Men In Black. Great selection since lots of scenes were filmed in New York City - Clinton Castle, Queens, and supposedly the TriBorough Bridge building. It was also interesting to see the bug moments in the films accentuated by actual bugs periodically bouncing through the projector light. Overall a great free way to spend a Saturday night in the City.

We also checked out the new AudioGuide service you can use to get information on places around Central Park. Jerry Seinfeld narrating The Mall was both informative and FUNNY! (646-862-0997, ext. 22#). Others like Marcia Gay Harden (34#) narrating the Shakespeare Garden and Lee Goldberg on Belvedere Castle (04#) were sort of boring. Can't wait to try out more.
