New Year's Eve in NYC

Sobriety and Antonio
next year, I run!

For New Year's Eve I just popped by my friends' home on 5th Ave. just across the park. The walk was refreshing and rather warm for New York standards - we've had record highs and no snow this year! My friends don't drink so I picked up some sparkling apple juice. Her two girls and her teenager niece from Switzerland were fun additions to the festivities. We watched the Antonio Banderas film Take the Lead. Now if I wrote the screenplay, I'm sure I could have written in a shower scene or shirtless moment somewhere in the film. Bit disappointed at the lack of sexy. Perhaps my viewing experience was affected by J's obsession with cleaning the kid's hamster cage during the film. The fireworks over Central Park were fabulous and we could see them from their 18th floor window. I could also see all the crazy midnight runners heading out for a 5K run through the park. When walking home, I saw a Santa with his eight reindeer runners, a Christmas Tree, and several sparkly ornaments. Fun event. Heck, it's a natural for the sponsor Emerald Nuts. Think I'll join 'em next year - champagne and jogging go well together don't ya think!
