NYC Marathon

Compared to all those runners
... I'm one lazy butt!

What to do one a sunny New York Day? Just walk outside, drift over to the Park and watch all the happy folks who finished the NYC Marathon. It was a perfect sunny and warm day to run, the trees haven't even changed into their fall wardrobe yet. Sadly a runner in the previous day's Olympic trials dies during the course run. But today, everyone looked happy and thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful and international event. I heard many languages spoken, many ages, shapes and sizes of finishers. The support families and friends are fantastic. One girl even bounced along on her pogo-stick alongside her mom. A great day to enjoy New York.

So what happened to me? I used to run cross country competitively in high school and college. Fall in New England alwyas reminds me of cross country season, the smell of damp earth adn decaying leaves. I loved the slight moist chill in the air, the fog that would come off your arms and legs after a hard run. I really need to make time to bring that back into my life. But wait, a nice snuggle comforter and cup of tea is calling me ... must go take a nap now.
