Still Blurry

Lasik Update

Well, it has been about nine months since my Lasik operation. I still hate the results but I'm doing better with the frustration, not letting depression creep in too much. Back in the early summer I went and saw an eye expert in Los Angeles. While the laser used was the best available, my normal pupil dilation is larger than most but not abnormal. The doctor has found that such dilation tends to lend itself to the annoying side effect of image ghosting post surgery. This is the problem I'm having and it is not getting any better. I can't see presentations, read things well far away and generally get frustrated at the loss of my 20/15 vision I had with glasses or contacts. Now I have 20/30 vision with the blur. I've tried some drops the L.A. doctor recommended but they only help a little at night and by the morning the problem is worse then before. Argh! Live and learn. Hindsight really is 20/20, or 20/15 in my case.

In a metaphorical parallel, it has been a week since I met Gerhard for tea and no word. He was this attractive and interesting Swiss watch maker I met a year ago at the opera but we'd never connect since. We reconnected recently and I thought there was some interest on both our parts but alas, my visual clarity on that one was also blurry. Single life continues :)
