Earth Fair

SAVE THE PLANET!

I work for one of the best non-profit environmental groups around. Sadly we never really had a presence at Earth Fair on Earth Day which is held near Grand Central Station. I changed that this year and we had a great booth. We passed out tons of material which makes me want to plant several trees to make up for the paper waste. Draggin the booth up to GCT was a pain but luckily I had Andrew T. to help me get it there. It was like a strange tinker toy without instructions but we were able to put it together with some pieces left over. During the two days of the event, I had mascot envy. There was a squirrel, don't know why, and Greenpeace had a whale! But then I thought better of it; who wants to sweat in a weird costume for hours? They had the cool Tesla there plus Burt's Bees was passing out free lotion. Again, luck helped me out and Tim F. showed up during the last shift on Saturday. He helped me take the display down while Isabelle found us a cab! Finding a cab near GCT is tough and she suffered some verbal abuse from folks she beat out for the ride. Fun event all around.
