Nam

Tribeca lunch

I was downtown in the Tribeca area of sorts for work. For lunch I tried a place listed in my Manhattan Diary, Nam. I almost walked right by it, just on the north side of Reade by Broadway. Beautiful, clean, white-table-clothes space. I sat near the window and enjoyed some much needed green tea; it was rather chilly outside. I went with the waiter's suggestion - spicy flounder. It was a tad bit soft but the very light searing gave the skin and fish a wonderful, light, savory flavor. It was the perfect get-away from the conference. Just me, my New Yorker and some flavorful food. And I think the waiter was flirting with me, which certainly is nice and much appreciated. A gal needs a compliment every now and again. But perhaps he was just fishing for a good tip - but I'll take it any way it comes, even if I have to pay for it.
