Turtles and Guinea Pigs

Kid Time

Popped over to the Upper East Side to see my friend and her two girls. They are living on E 69th and walking about the neighborhood is so different than the Upper West Side. I went into the lower entrance and met the security guard but my friend hadn't gotten back from her eldest daughter's haircut. It was poring down rain but I felt it would be better if I just walked around the block. Madison Ave. still had the occasional refined couple or person heading who knows where.

I do love Wellies. Mine are simply dark blue with pink trim but I feel so comfy in them. In New York City I get to see all types - Pucci color waves, Paul Frank monkeys, polka dots, Burberry plaid, and everything else fun under the rain.

My friend called; they were home. I headed back and met her up in the place they were living while renovating their new place on Central Park West. It must be hard living in a temporary place. My friend has had to borrow a winter coat that engulfed her in quilted padding, large enough to fit the both of us, because her clothes are still in storage. The kids had happily taken over the living room with their toys and pets. Two guinea pigs were roaming their pen, well, one was bouncing around while the other searched for cover to avoid being picked up by those hovering giants in the sky who could, at any moment, pick you up and love you to death. The turtle, Speedy, had his own pen elevated on a table. He was looking so green and happy, growing so much he was shedding some neck skin. The simple joy of watching two girls have their small version of a pet zoo.
