Brooklyn Vibes
love it over the bridge
O.K. I'll admit it. I've become an island bound Manhattanite. but occasionally I get a reason to venture to another borough. Luckily I never regret jaunts out to Brooklyn. A friend from work, Carol, had her early twenty-something birthday at her home on Baltic Street. Gone are the skyscrapers replaced by walk-ups, bodegas and little restaurants. Several little places looked cute, warm and appealing. ON the walk to her home a few young guys gave me a shout out. I first thought they wanted to catch my attention for direction but when I stopped, they gave me a whistle and a nice "Looking good." Now I was wearing my military looking wool jacket, knit cap, and glasses so I wasn't feeling too stylish or sexy but that cat-call just made my day! I gave them a sincere, "Thank you!" and head to the party just a little bouncier. SO thank you, Brooklyn youth. You made this one old thirty-something gal feel just a little better.
