Opera and fireworks
I know, I'm horrible about posting to the blob in a timely manner. Instead of writing a lot now, I'll just post pictures and quick notes.
I was back in New York City for New Year's. My Monday opera series just happened to have Romeo and Juliette scheduled for the last performance on New Year's Eve. Anna Netrebko was amazing and the set opening up on the lovers in a floating bed, stars all around, had the audience gasping.
I headed home and took the back elevator up to our building's roof deck. A few of my neighbors were there including my 9th floor neighbor's family from Italy. Sort of befitting since the San Remo building on Central Park West was directly in our foreground making a nice silhouette for the fireworks in the Park.
